Hi

I know it is highly unusual to get an email from a fish but I am reaching out to you as I need your help now more than ever.

My name is Barry and I’m an endangered maori wrasse and I live in Osprey Reef in the blue heart of the Coral Sea. Right now our federal Environment Minister Tony Burke is deciding the fate of my home.

Over the past two years thousands of Australians signed our Coral Sea epetition including you.  Now I need you to do one more tiny favour for me, and sign a rapid submission as part of the government’s Coral Sea public consultation process.

Did you know that Minister Burke thinks it is OK that 90% of the coral reefs in the Coral Sea aren’t protected?  Well my mates and I who live here strongly disagree for obvious reasons!

We want to feel safe in our homes. That’s not too much to ask is it?

Please help me convince Tony Burke to make my Coral Sea home the largest highly protected marine park in the world so all my friends can be safe too (I have a lot of them).

You can do this by sending Minister Burke a message right now!

Did you know that Coral Sea is one of the last places on Earth where big fish like me are found in reasonable numbers?  How scary is that?

I ask you and your friends to think about your underwater Australian friends on our national day – we can’t vote so we need you to speak up for us.

An email message from you will make all the difference so speaking on behalf of myself and my many marine friends we really appreciate your support.

Cheers Barry
